Accessibility Statement

Last updated: August 2026

Commitment
Alan Ohara / ʻĀkolea Visual is committed to making alanohara.com accessible to all visitors, including those who use assistive technologies. Accessibility is an ongoing practice, not a one-time checklist.

Standards
This site aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities including visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive impairments.

Current state
This site has been built with the following accessibility considerations:

  • Semantic HTML structure with logical heading hierarchy
  • Alt text on images throughout the site
  • Sufficient color contrast between text and backgrounds
  • Keyboard navigable interface
  • Responsive design that works across screen sizes and devices
  • Captions available on embedded video content where provided by the source

Known limitations
Some third-party embedded content — including Vimeo videos, Momento360 virtual tours, and interactive maps — may not fully meet accessibility standards. I have limited control over the accessibility of these external platforms and am not responsible for their compliance.

Feedback
If you encounter any accessibility barriers on this site or have suggestions for improvement, please reach out. Your feedback is taken seriously and will inform ongoing improvements.

Ongoing improvement
Accessibility is something I continue to work on as the site grows. New content, features, and third-party integrations will be evaluated with accessibility in mind.
